About ICM2026

ICM2026 Research

The 1st International Conference on Microplastics (ICM2026) is an international scientific platform dedicated to advancing knowledge, innovation, and collaboration in the field of microplastics and pollution control.

The conference will be held on 01–02 July 2026 at Mercure Living Putrajaya Hotel, Malaysia, bringing together researchers, academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and environmental practitioners from around the world.

ICM2026 is organised by UMT Consultancy Services, the official consultancy entity under UMT Holdings, with strong academic and research support from the Microplastic Research Interest Group (MRIG), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions and knowledge exchange on the sources, distribution, impacts, and mitigation strategies of microplastics in marine, freshwater, terrestrial, and atmospheric environments.

With the theme “Tracing the Invisible: Scientific Frontiers in Microplastics & Pollution Control”, ICM2026 highlights emerging scientific frontiers, innovative analytical techniques, risk assessment approaches, and policy-driven solutions addressing the growing challenges of microplastic pollution. The conference serves as a bridge between scientific research and real-world applications, promoting evidence-based strategies for environmental sustainability and pollution management.

ICM2026 provides a dynamic platform for oral and poster presentations, keynote lectures, technical sessions, and networking opportunities, encouraging collaboration across disciplines and sectors. Through this initiative, ICM2026 aspires to contribute meaningfully to global efforts in understanding microplastics and advancing effective pollution control strategies for a sustainable future.
