Professor Dr. Huahong Shi is a Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, China. He is internationally recognized for his research on microplastics and nanoplastics, particularly their environmental behavior, fragmentation mechanisms, ecotoxicological impacts, and endocrine-disrupting effects.

He currently serves as Associate Editor of Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Science & Technology Letters, and has previously held editorial leadership roles in Regional Studies in Marine Science and Marine Pollution Bulletin. His work bridges environmental chemistry, aquatic biology, and human health, advancing global understanding of plastic pollution and its ecological consequences.
